Steve & Eve Spires

Steve and Eve Spires coordinate BCMW’s work across the Bahamas, Belize, Finland, and Latvia. Married since June 1990, they began ministry as junior high youth leaders at Lakeview Christian Center in New Orleans, where they also took their first counseling classes. In 1997, Steve became pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church in Slidell, Louisiana, and the couple grew involved with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors.

When their own marriage began to struggle in 2004, biblical counsel from a NANC-certified counselor brought complete healing through repentance and forgiveness, an experience Steve and Eve credit entirely to God and his Word. That healing convinced them of biblical counseling’s power in the local church, and Steve completed his ACBC certification in 2020. He now works alongside Dr. Don Roy at the IBCD training center in Slidell, training lay counselors within the local church.

Steve looks forward to seeing how God will use him globally to equip pastors to counsel their own congregations.
