Mike & Sherry DeGuzman

Mike DeGuzman coordinates BCMW’s work in Croatia, Greece, and South Africa. He did not grow up in a Christian home. God saved him in 1993 at age twenty-six through the faithful discipleship of a mature Christian brother, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to 2 Timothy 2:2: entrusting to others what he has received. He earned certification with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors in 2009 and now serves as senior pastor of Community Bible Church in Ocala, Florida.

For years, Mike taught biblical counseling to pastors overseas and watched the training fail to take root once he left. Meeting Wayne Vanderwier and encountering BCMW’s Church Leadership Training modules gave him what he needed: a structured, repeatable plan for training trainers, not just students.

Sherry has homeschooled their children since 1995 and travels with Mike when she can. They have eight children, seven of them daughters, and nine grandchildren, including twin daughters serving as missionaries in Ukraine.
