Javan & Lindsay Payne
Javan Payne coordinates BCMW’s work in Puerto Rico and Utah. He and his wife, Lindsay, discovered biblical counseling while studying at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where Javan completed his Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling in 2012. That season changed how they saw their own struggles: not as circumstances to escape, but as opportunities to ask what God wanted to change in their hearts.
After seminary, Javan moved his family to Utah, where he has church-planted for years and started Utah Biblical Counseling, a ministry helping local churches and Christians grow toward maturity in Christ. In 2018, Javan and Lindsay traveled to El Salvador to observe BCMW’s ministry firsthand, then agreed to help Dr. Don Roy open BCMW’s new field in Italy.
Javan is completing a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Counseling, he says, has made him a better husband, father, pastor, and neighbor. Javan and Lindsay have five children, and Lindsay, an ACBC-certified counselor, homeschools them.
