Dr. Wayne & Susie Vanderwier

Dr. Wayne and Susie Vanderwier founded BCM Worldwide in 2006. Wayne served as Executive Director until 2019, when he transitioned into his current role as Director at Large, building relationships with churches and seminaries worldwide and training both missionaries and national pastors. Since BCMW’s founding, the couple has traveled to thirty-nine countries on the ministry’s behalf.

Wayne grew up in a Christian family in West Michigan and was saved at age seven. He holds degrees from Western Michigan University, Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary, and two doctorates in ministry, and he is a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Susie, his high school sweetheart, completed the Basic Counselor Training Program at Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries and continues working toward her own ACBC certification while teaching seminars for pastors’ wives and staff wives.

Married since 1973, Wayne and Susie have raised five children who, together with their spouses, have given them twenty-two grandchildren. What began as an idea, they say, has grown into a ministry reaching more than fifty countries, and they still love traveling together in pursuit of it.
