Bruce & Kim Havens

Bruce Havens coordinates BCMW’s work in Nicaragua, a partnership that began in 2019 when he and his wife, Kim, met missionary intern Alex Soto while introducing biblical counseling to churches in Cuenca, Ecuador. Alex now pastors in Managua and partners with a group of churches training leaders through a Bible Institute there.

Bruce and Kim were both raised in Christian families in northeast Ohio and came to faith at age eight. Married in 1996, Bruce has pastored Calvary Baptist Church in Brewerton, New York, since 2007, and the couple has counseled together through the church’s Restoration Counseling Ministry since 2018. Bruce holds a D.Min. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and ACBC certification.

As a pastor who had access to biblical counseling training himself, Bruce wanted to help pastors elsewhere gain the same. He and Kim completed all four modules of BCMW’s Church Leadership Training in Nicaragua in 2025. They have three children and five grandchildren.
