Biblical Counseling: How Do You Do It More Effectively?
Real people bring complicated problems to the church. BCMW’s Church Leadership Training (CLT) Module 3 helps church leaders think through those problems from God’s perspective, building on the biblical foundations and counseling process introduced in Modules 1 & 2.
Rather than attempting to create a checklist for every possible counseling situation, this module explores a range of common issues and considers how biblical truth speaks into each one. Topics may include marriage & family, anger, depression, fear and worry, forgiveness, guilt and repentance, suffering, sexual sin, addictions, spiritual warfare, decision-making, and crisis or trauma. The specific topics can be shaped around the needs of the host church or region.
Throughout the module, the emphasis remains on learning to see people and their struggles through the lens of Scripture and responding with wisdom, compassion, and gospel hope.
Who is this for?
Module 3 is designed for church leaders who have established a foundation in biblical counseling and want to become more effective in addressing the situations people actually bring to the church.
What should you expect?
The module considers a wide range of common counseling issues from God’s perspective. Depending on the needs of the host church or region, topics may include marriage and family, anger, depression, fear and worry, forgiveness, guilt and repentance, suffering, sexual sin, addictions, and crisis situations.
